Workflows are an important tool for many schools to streamline school processes

Orah schools have been looking for ways to improve their utility in response to student actions, so we’ve made a number of enhancements to help with this.

Here are the highlights:

  1. Roll records (absences, late arrivals etc) can now trigger a workflow
  2. Contacts & students (parents, family members) can now be notified as part of a workflow
  3. Schools can set specific date periods during which workflows operate
  4. We’ve made it easier to see what workflows relate to a specific student

But first,

If you want to see the latest Orah Workflow updates in-depth, watch this update from Ronan Quirke, Product Manager at Orah. Otherwise, continue reading for the highlights.

Roll records

A new workflow initiation option of “Initiate by roll records” is available when creating a workflow, with customisable settings around the roll code type, quantity and period that the system will monitor for.

Notify contacts & students

The ‘send notifications’ step now includes additional options for students and the contacts of those students to be sent notifications by email, sms or both methods, to ensure urgent notifications have the best opportunity to be seen.

Custom date periods

For schools that wish to use workflows to monitor for infractions or behavior issues within a specific timeframe, workflows can now be set to a custom date period such as the school academic year or a term period.

Workflows relating to students

Power users needed to see the name of the student more clearly shown in workflows, so we have done that for you in a number of places ☺️
